Aid to Rombout Fire Department

On January 20, 2003, New Hackensack was requested to assist
Rombout Fire Department at this 1-Car motor vehicle accident. Due to the
downed power lines, Rombout was unable to get their equipment close enough to
the vehicle and requested New Hackensack to bring their Rescue in from the other
direction. The driver had to be extricated from his vehicle.
Firefighters had to work around downed power lines that blocked the road to get
to the car. The victim was transported by helicopter to Westchester
Medical Center. A landing zone was established by Village of Fishkill Fire
Department at the A & P parking lot on Route 52. Hughsonville Fire
Department was also dispatched to assist with traffic control.
