Large Area Search

With Live Burn training on the way, New Hackensack prepared the members by holding Mask Confidence and then this Large Area Search drill to warm up the search skills.  A firefighter was placed in the apparatus center on very little air.  He was told to find his way out.  Instructors made sure that each firefighter remembered the "MayDay" system to activate PASS alarms when their low air was on and they were lost.  After running out of air, the member was made to stop where he was so a team of rescuers would try to find him/her.  All members were blindfolded as to not see their surroundings.
