Avalon Preplan Drill

New Hackensack conducted a multi-agency drill at Avalon Assisted Living on Route 376 to test their preplan.  A simulated fire was dispatched and the residents of the facility were evacuated and brought to a staging area at Lilliana's Restaurant.  Firefighters than performed simulated offensive attacks in the structure while search teams looked for victims.  Upon completion of this scenario, the drill turned to a more defensive type operation to test how well the tanker shuttle operation could handle the operation of a master stream.  New Hackensack received assistance from several agencies including Arlington, East Fishkill, Hughsonville, Lagrange, New Hamburg, and Wappinger Fire Departments.  The drill lasted approximately two hours and Route 376 remained closed during the operation.  (Pictures Courtesy of Mark Liebermann)
