House Fire - Hillcrest Court

October 30, 2005

On Sunday, approximately 2:45 a.m., New Hackensack was dispatched to this structure fire at 36 Hillcrest Court.  Units arrived on the scene at 2:54 a.m to find most of the structure fully engulfed in flames.  An exterior attack was initiated by the first arriving crews with the use of a deck gun and a 2 1/2" attack hose.  With water supplies from the hydrant being inefficient, a tanker shuttle was initiated and mutual aid was requested from Hughsonville, Chelsea, East Fishkill, and New Hamburg.  In addition, Lagrange was dispatched to standby in New Hackensack's quarters.  The fire was brought under control in less than an hour and crews began to try and salvage any belongings that could be pulled from the structure.  The Dutchess County Fire Investigation Team was called in to investigate the incident, but no cause was determined by the time of this release.  The American Red Cross was also contacted to help the residents.
