And Raising of the Flag
On October 11, 2001, The Town of Wappingers held a candlelight vigil to remember those who have lost their lives on September 11th. On the 30th day following the tragedys, it was time to raise the American flag back up to full mast at the memorial at Schlathaus Park. In addition, the flag was also returned to full mast at New Hackensack Fire Department. Members of New Hackensack and Hughsonville joined the ceremonies at the park, as well at members of Sloper-Willen, NYS Police and DC Sheriff.
