Live Burn Drill
April 14, 2003 7:00 pm
The first live burn drill of 2003 went very well.  There was an excellent turnout and we were able to get off three evolutions.  Unfortunately, this trailer didn't hold up very well with respect to the floors rotting away, but it seemed to give the teams a little more realistic affect in that they had to check the floors as they crawled through the structure.  A great job was done by all the teams.  It was also a very good turnout from our probationary firefighters that were able to observe the fires under the supervision of the Chiefs and really get a feel for fire spread and heat.

Sean Gleba, Chris Ramage, and Phil DiNonno decide to have a little fun with the camera prior to the start of the drill.

1st. Asst. Chief DiMase gives instruction to the probationary firefighters prior to entry.
As the first burn begins, the Attack team takes its position.

Initial Attack team advances on the fire through the front entrance.
Backup team moves into position.

The second burn of the evening was started in the bathroom.
Teams advance on the fire as it was allowed to spread down the hallway to the living room.
