Route 376 Sunoco Gas Station
On Wednesday, October 24th, at 8:01 pm, New Hackensack was dispatched for a fire in the garage of the Sunoco gas station. Upon arrival, a second alarm assignment was dispatched and East Fishkill Fire Department was requested to standby in NKFD quarters. The fire was knocked down minutes after arrival. A great job was done by all. Although the garage sustained heavy fire damage, the remaining portions of the building only sustained smoke damage. Two openings were cut in the roof to check for fire spread and ventilation purposes, but the truss roof construction only received minor damage.
